Another gift to the Painter community from David Gell

|
Hello All,

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the name David Gell, he is someone you definitely will want to be aware of. David is forever creating nifty brushes, Painter scripts, Mac utilities and more. He has been doing this for years and his web site is a veritable treasure trove.

David's latest gift to the Painter community is a series of pages showing small, clickable thumbnails of all the Paper textures which are included with the "Extra Content" from Painter 12. Since most of this content is also usable in Painter X3, you will want to check this out.

In addition, David has also added a gallery which contains the Default Painter X3 Paper textures. These thumbnails make it very easy to check out the papers and decide which one to use for your work.

Thanks again David.

Resources page has been updated

Hello again,

Wow, two blog posts in one week. I think that's some sort of a record for me...lol.

My Resources page has been long overdue for updating and I finally got around to it. Several of the links have been updated and some new information has been added. Please take a look at it, there's a lot of good information available there.

The first Painter X3 class is available (at last)!

|

When Painter X3 was released at the end of July, I expected to be able to whip out the updated classes in a jiffy. Well, as those of you who have been waiting already know, this isn't what happened. Between various Real Life situations, many, many, violent summer thunderstorms, and old errors I kept finding, this took a lot longer than I expected it too...but finally...the new class is ready, and I think it's the best one yet. Which BTW fits perfectly with this latest version of Painter. You're going to love Painter X3...

This new class is for those who are new to using Corel Painter and is specifically geared toward Painter X3. (If you are using Painter 12, please see the intro classes for that version here. Scroll down for the Painter 12 class links.) The material contained in this class will teach you how to navigate around the Painter user interface and how to use the tools the program provides so you will be able to paint digitally. I start you with the basics and gently lead you through the process of painting images and cloning photographs. In subsequent classes you will learn to use the Painter materials, Patterns, Paper textures, etc. and you will learn how to customize the program so you have your very own virtual art store.
Digital art is an exciting area! It provides you with options not available with traditional media. Please join me as we begin the journey which is Corel Painter!

Note: If you have already taken the Introduction to Painter 12 classes, please be aware that the material in this class is the same as the material covered for Painter 12, although it has been completely edited and revised for use with Painter X3.
